The African American Legacy Fund of Indianapolis (AALFI) began as an idea. It became an aspiration.

Today, it is a reality.

We were officially launched in February 2020. Our Founding Members all donated a minimum of $2,000 to express their strong support of this fund. We have formed several committees that are focused on addressing the myriad challenges that we face.

It is imperative for Black people to continue to do what we’ve always done, which is to dedicate our time, talent, treasure, and testimony to the uplift of our people. Research confirms that African Americans are the most philanthropy group of people in our nation. (That is, we give a higher proportion of our income to philanthropy than any other racial group.)

Finally, we are excited about our partnership with the Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF) and appreciate its ongoing support.
